Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating tiny needles into specific points on the body. It helps to nourish the qi of body and helps to remove stagnant energies. "Qi" (pronounced 'Chee') can be defined as the universal life energy present in every living creature. This energy circulates throughout the body along specific pathways that are called meridians. As long as this energy flows freely throughout the meridians, health is maintained, but once the flow of energy is blocked, the system is disrupted and pain and illness occur.
Acupuncture works to restore normal functions by stimulating certain points on the meridians in order to best utilize the Qi of the body to promote health and balance. Patients may feel a heavy or electric sensation at the site of the needle, and often feel relaxed and a sense of euphoria.

Does Acupuncture hurt? What will it feel like?
Acupuncture is normally a painless and gentle treatment. At times, more often on the most sensitive parts of the body like the hands, feet, and ears, you may feel a pricking sensation with the insertion of the needle. This sensation should subside almost immediately. Other feelings you may have during your treatment can be heaviness, tingling, or electric sensations at the site of the needle. Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation and calmness during the treatment.
